David Sandbrook is a chartered surveyor and chartered planner (MRTPI) with over 30 years’ professional experience of planning, estate management and valuation matters.
David is based in the UK and is a Group Partner at Carter Jonas, where he is Head of Minerals & Waste Management.
He advises landowners, mineral & waste operators, developers and financial institutions on specialist estate management, valuation and planning matters. David specialises in providing mineral and waste property advice for major infrastructure projects and his clients include HS2 and Highways England.
David has managed a broad range of planning & EIA cases throughout the UK, including mixed use developments, brown field regeneration and mineral, waste and energy projects. He is a RICS Registered Valuer and is recognised as an expert in mineral and waste management asset valuation.
David is a co-author of the RICS global guidance note on the valuation of mineral bearing land and waste management assets and has acted as an Expert Witness in Planning Inquiries, at the High Court and in Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber) cases. David is also a Fellow of the Institute of Quarrying, a Chartered Waste Manager and a Member of the Compulsory Purchase Association.
David was elected to the Land Strategy Seat on RICS Governing Council in 2018 and is a member of the RICS Land & Resources Global Board.
David lives in Derbyshire, where he is an operational Member of Derby Mountain Rescue Team.
