James is a Senior Associate at Edward Cooper Young Chartered Surveyors based in their Leicester office.
James is a Chartered Building Surveyor with almost 20 years’ experience in the profession. Offering building surveys, pre-acquisition advice, project management, employers agent, contract administration, design, construction advice, planning advice and applications, dilapidations and all landlord and tenant matters, party wall surveying, reinstatement cost assessments, expert witness, feasibility studies and much more.
During his career, James has been based in the East Midlands but worked throughout the UK for both public and private sector clients in various sectors including hospitality and leisure, housing, health, commercial property, retail and many more. Recently, James has worked with international clients providing services both in the UK and overseas.
A former RICS Matrics UK Board Chairman, James started his RICS involvement at local level as a committee member with the Derbyshire RICS Matrics group, eventually becoming the Chairman. Inspiring the next generation is a passion of James’ and he looks to continue contributing to RICS initiatives with this theme.
Having been an RICS East Midlands Board member for the last four years, he was also the RICS East Midlands Board Chairman and in his second term as a Governing Council Member following a successful re-election.
James is also an RICS APC Assessor for the Building Surveying pathway.
